Denmark, the little country that stayed out of the EURO

Denmark and the United Kingdom received opt-outs from the Maastricht Treaty and do not have to join the euro until they choose to do so; Sweden has not received an opt-out, yet refuses to join for now, as well. Two referendums have been held on the issue up to now, both of which failed:
Denmark has been able to reduce its unemployment rate, and to boost its CAB Current Account surplus. What did smart Denmark know that the other small countries did not foresee ?
But no country is perfect!
An alliance of right-wing parties won the Danish general election on 18-June-2015, in a close race with the dramatic rise of the   anti-immigration Danish People's Party (DPP). Coalition talks failed and  Denmark's new Liberal prime minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen just took office with less than 20% of the popular vote.
